Carlos de la Barra
Carlos is Technical Sales Manager for Lallemand Brewing in Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands, where he focuses on yeast and fermentation solutions for the brewing industry. He brings ... more than 20 years of international experience in the wine and beer sector, having worked in France, New Zealand, California (USA), and Sweden. He holds a BSc in Natural and Exact Sciences (Chile) and an MSc in Food and Biotechnology (Austria), combining scientific expertise with practical industry knowledge. He will be our guest speaker on the advanced yeast module of the International Beer Sommelier Course.

Dr. Alicia Muñoz-Insa
Alicia is Senior Technical Manager and Project Manager at BarthHaas, the world’s largest hop supplier, where she has been part of the team for over a decade. Alicia holds a degree in Food Engineering ... from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She earned her Dr.-Ing. in Brewing and Beverage Technology from the famous Technical University of Munich Weihenstephan (TUM). With 16 years of experience in the food and beverage technology sector, she combines deep industry knowledge with a passion for innovation and quality. She shares her expertise as our instructor for the hops module of the International Beer Sommelier Course.

Matthias Richter
Matthias has been Brewmaster at the Bayerischer Bahnhof brewery in Leipzig since 2003, where he is especially known for preserving the tradition of Leipziger Gose. As a trained Brewer and ... Maltster, he began his career at Ur-Krostitzer before completing his studies as a Diploma-Brewmaster in Berlin. With more than 20 years of brewing experience, Matthias contributes his expertise on German beer traditions as our guest lecturer for the German beer style Gose.

Dr. Matthew Adams
Matthew Adams is the director of the Abydos Archeology and has directed the excavation of the world's oldest known beer brewery in Abydos. He has worked as an archaeologist at Abydos for forty years ... and holds a dual PhD in Anthropology and Egyptology from the University of Pennsylvania. Matthew has published, taught, and lectured widely on the archaeology of Egypt, and has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, National Geographic Magazine, and a number of television documentaries. He recently edited the fourth volume of the Egypt at its Origins series, and has previously served on the Board of Governors of the American Research Center in Egypt and of the Egyptological Seminar of New York.

Henri is coordinator of StiBON Beer Training (Netherlands) and former president of the European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU). He is also co-founder of the Dutch Beer Challenge, BierTalent and ... the platform Week of Dutch Beer, of which he was chairman for six years. He is former secretary of the Heineken Collection Foundation and former chairman of the national beer museum De Boom in Alkmaar. Together with Peter Klosse (Academy of Gastronomy), he set up the specialisation in Beer & Gastronomy for sommeliers in 2020. Henri is a columnist and editor of magazines Bier! and Brew! and the author of several books.
